Ordering your Textbooks from the UMN Bookstores
In mid-August, the University of Minnesota Bookstores will email all UMN Morris PSEO students registered for fall semester a link with which to order your textbooks.
The email will only be sent to your University email account.
The email will contain a PSEO Scholarship Authorization Link entitled "Purchase My Course Materials on Scholarship" that will allow you to order textbooks for any course for which you are registered without charge.
IMPORTANT: If you are asked to provide payment, do not order. Contact me and I will have the bookstore resend your link.
Required textbooks will be covered by the PSEO program and you will not be charged.
Recommended or optional textbooks are not covered by the PSEO program. You will need to purchase those separately.
You will not be able to order textbooks for courses for which you are waitlisted.
All textbooks should be returned to the UMN Morris bookstore at the end of the semester.
Please contact Wendy Evink, bookstore manager, at 320-589-6141 with questions.
Sexual Violence Prevention Training for Undergraduate Students
PSEO students who have at least one course on the UMN Morris campus are required to take the Sexual Violence Prevention Training for Undergraduate Students course. You will receive notice to take the course. PSEO students who are taking all courses online are not required to take the course.
Your PSEO Student Account
JR Hold
A JR hold is placed on all PSEO student records. It is a registration hold locking you out of the electronic registration system. Its purpose is to prevent you from adding or dropping classes without our assistance. The reason for the hold is because we must report PSEO student registrations to students' high schools/home schools and to the Minnesota Department of Education. It also serves as a protection for you to make sure you have a conversation with your high school counselor/home school administrator before dropping a course because it may affect a high school graduation requirement.
Tuition and Fees
I send the names of all PSEO students to the Business Office just before classes start; the Business Office will manually remove PSEO tuition and fees.
Billing for expenses not covered by the program
Expenses covered for PSEO students:
Tuition for fall and spring term courses
Note: PSEO students are not allowed to register for any courses that include course fees. See course fee list.
Required textbooks and course packets
Consumable supplies (e.g. film for photography class, paint for an art class, etc.).
Note: While consumables can be reimbursed, courses that have course fees cannot be taken by PSEO students.
Expenses NOT covered for PSEO students:
Tuition for summer term courses (May, Summer I and II) and Study Abroad programs.
Recommended textbooks and course packets.
Equipment/non-consumable supplies (e.g. calculator, dissecting kits, chemistry goggles, lab coats, developing trays for photography class, easel for art class, etc.)
Basic school supplies (e.g. notebooks, pencils, pens, backpacks, date planners, batteries, etc.)
Housing and meal plans
Regional Fitness Center access
Parking permits
Purchasing a Parking Permit
Purchase a parking permit if you will be parking on campus. Permits may be purchased per year or per semester. It includes applicable sales tax.
PSEO Students must pick up and pay for their parking permits at the Business Office Cashier's Window (2nd floor Behmler Hall).
See Parking Information for parking guidelines, parking map, and parking permit application form.
Your U Card
PSEO students who are enrolled in at least one class at the University of Minnesota Morris are eligible for a U Card (Student ID Card). Your U Card is important for access to places and services on campus including your residential hall and labs and for services such as the bookstore, library, your meal plan, and student account).
If you attended an in-person New Student Orientation, you should have received your U Card.
If you attended a virtual New Student Orientation, you will pick up your U Card when you get to UMN Morris for Welcome Week.
If you are living on campus, your U Card will be waiting for you at our Office of Residential Life.

Dropping/Withdrawing from a Course
Any drop (first two seeks of semester) must be submitted in writing and cannot be made over the telephone. If you wish to drop a Morris course, you must email the Morris PSEO Adviser using your University-assigned email account.
If you wish to withdraw from a course (third through tenth week of semester), you must complete and sign the PSEO Course Cancellation Form. This form also requires a signature from your high school counselor.
Please note that a change in your registration status should be made by the deadlines to drop a course without a designation of “W” (withdrawal) on your transcript.
GPA Requirements, Credit Reduction and Dismissal
See full policy at Nondegree Student Dismissal
Dismissal
Postsecondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) students are required to maintain a 2.50 cumulative and term grade point average in their University of Minnesota, Morris (UMM) courses. Students who fall below this criterion will be prohibited from taking Morris courses (dismissed) for one semester. However, students may file a written appeal of the dismissal decision with the Scholastic Committee by the specified deadline. Typically, the strongest appeals are those in which the student presents documentation of extenuating circumstances beyond their control.
Credit reduction and drop-down
Students who receive a grade of “C+” or lower (including a grade of “N”) in one or more courses or do not fulfill the terms of an academic contract, yet remain above the 2.5 GPA criterion, may be advised to decrease their enrollment during the following term at the discretion of the Scholastic Committee (or its designees). It is important that students understand that the Scholastic Committee and its designees have the right and responsibility to act in what they believe to be the student’s and the program’s best interests.
