Your coursework and grades from the University will appear on your high school transcript and will count toward your high school graduation requirements.
The PSEO statute stipulates that grade reporting to high schools/homeschools is the responsibility of the student. However, as a courtesy, the PSEO Adviser sends out a certified PSEO Notice of Student Enrollment form to your high school/homeschool after the last day to drop a class without a "W" has passed. The form lists all the classes and number of credits making up your current semester class schedule.
Additionally, at the end of the semester once grades have been submitted by UMN Morris instructors, the UMN Morris Office of the Registrar sends your final grades to your high school/homeschool if you have completed the PSEO Student Request for Official UMN Morris Transcript You are responsible for making sure your high school receives your grades.
The deadline for instructors to submit final grades at UMN Morris is typically by midnight three weekday (M-F) days after the last day of final exams. For example, if the last day of finals falls on a Friday, final grades are due by 11:59 PM on the following Wednesday.
Your high school will accept all of your University credits, but ultimately it is your high school that determines how those credits will apply to your high school graduation requirements (as subject requirements or electives). You must confirm with your high school counselor that the courses for which you are registered at UMN Morris fill your high school graduation requirements. We recommend that you get an updated high school balance sheet each semester for your records.
It is critical that you review your course selections with your high school counselor prior to the beginning of each semester in order to ensure you are fulfilling the graduation requirements for your high school.
Most high schools require a 4-credit course to complete a high school graduation requirement. The Minnesota Department of Education has indicated that a 4-credit semester college course is equivalent to one year of a high school requirement. PSEO students should always check with their high school counselors to confirm.
