This week students will begin to practise using the comprehension strategy of asking questions before, during and after reading. Students will also continue to focus on reading fluently.
This week students will begin to explore poetry and focus on how to write a rhyming poem.

In Spelling this week, we will be focusing on the following:
Spelling choices and rules:
-spelling words with the 'oy' and 'oi' spelling choices.
Spelling words with the triagraph 'ear' (near) and 'eer' (cheer)
Spelling words with the triagraph 'air'(hair), '_are' (beware, '_ear' (bear)
Tricky words: through, every, only
At home, you can support your child by doing the following activities:
Child writes the word, saying each sound as he/she writes.
Draw child’s attention to the target phonic pattern.
Help child choose the correct spelling pattern if there are options.
