This week we will begin to look and explain what persuasive texts are and their purpose. We will also focus on reading fluently as we read aloud a text.
This week students will continue to write their own narratives. Students will edit, revise and publish their writing pieces.
This week we will be further exploring place value and we will begin to explore addition. We will also be learning about telling time to the half hour and quarter hour.
In Spelling this week, we will be focusing on the following:
Spelling choices for /ē/ - ‘ee’, ‘ea’, ‘e_e’
Our tricky word will be: caught
At home, you can support your child by doing the following activities:
Child writes the word, saying each sound as he/she writes.
Draw child’s attention to the target phonic pattern.
Help child choose the correct spelling pattern if there are options.
We will also be focusing on the words woman, home, where. At home, you can support your child by doing the following activities:
Child writes the word several times, saying each letter name as he/she writes.
Child writes a sentence using the target word.

This week, we will be continuing 'Friendology'!
Friendology teaches children the key skills of relationships and how to navigate conflict with their peers.
Our next lesson is called, 'Kind and Strong'
In this lesson we will focus on:
thinking about the key friendship skills students have learned throughout the friendology sessions
reflecting on how kindness & strength work together to protect our mental health & wellbeing
