This week students will be adding seeds to their writer's notebook. They will also be identifying the organisation features in narratives and practise retelling them.
This week students will be making two digit numbers, using clues about how many tens and ones it had, and solving it as a word and in digits. Students will also explore measuring the length of selected objects using informal units, and order objects from shortest to longest.
In Spelling this week, we will be focusing on the following:
base words and suffixes (e.g. adding 'ing' to verbs and bossy 'e' words)
Tricky words: really, because, animal, bought
At home, you can support your child by doing the following activities:
Child writes the word, saying each sound as he/she writes.
Draw child’s attention to the target phonic pattern.
Help child choose the correct spelling pattern if there are options.

For the first few weeks of this term, we will be teaching lessons through The Resilience, rights and respectful relationships (RRRR). This is a teaching and learning resource has been designed to provide social and emotional learning and respectful relationships education.
In this week's lessons, we will be focussing on naming some emotions that students can experience at school, and showing how emotions can be seen in body language. We will also be identifying situations that might cause students to feel a particular emotion and understand how people might feel in certain situations.
