This week students will be making connections between the text and their own life (personal connections). Students will also practise reading fluently.
This week students will be exploring and using adjectives in their writing. They will also be exploring the organisational structure of Narrative writing, and use this understanding to help retell stories.
This week students will be using the language 'one more/one less' and 'ten more/ten less' when comparing 2-digit numbers. They will also continue to explore measuring the length of selected objects using informal units, and order objects from shortest to longest.
In Spelling this week, we will be focusing on the following:
Spelling choices /ar/ in words. (e.g. park, large, March, barn, alarm)
Tricky words: alright, always, said
At home, you can support your child by doing the following activities:
Child writes the word, saying each sound as he/she writes.
Draw child’s attention to the target phonic pattern.
Help child choose the correct spelling pattern if there are options.

In wellbeing this week, we will continue our Respectful Relationship lessons. Our goal this week is to identify emotions and come up with strategies to help each other. For example, thinking about how people might feel when others exclude them from play and suggesting ways to help classmates play well together. We will be undertaking some role-playing to practise using these suggestions in various scenarios.
