This week students will be making connections with our own experiences, other texts and the world. Students will also continue to focus on reading fluently.
This week students will to begin to use their understanding or narrative structures to help retell stories. They will use a story map to help plan their own version of the story 'Tiddalick'. Students will also practise using adjectives in their writing.
This week students will be focusing on three-digit numbers and doubling. They will also be exploring capacity in measurement.
In Spelling this week, we will be focusing on the following:
Spelling choices and rules:
Double the final consonant +ing (e.g. 'win' becomes 'winning')
Suffix 'ing' rule review (e.g. 'make' becomes 'making')
Review of nouns, base word, prefix and suffix.
Tricky words: across, mother, brother
At home, you can support your child by doing the following activities:
Child writes the word, saying each sound as he/she writes.
Draw child’s attention to the target phonic pattern.
Help child choose the correct spelling pattern if there are options.

• Students will describe what it looks or sounds like when someone treats others with respect.
• Students will list some of the strengths that can help people to show respect.
