Message to fight drug abuse

What important messages would you share with young people in Singapore to help fight drug abuse? Explain your answer with reference to two messages.

One important message I would share is that there are severe negative consequences if a person abuses drugs. [Description]

Singapore has some of the strictest drug laws in the world due to the government's zero-tolerance policy towards drugs. Penalties for drug offenses in Singapore are severe. The penalties range from fines and mandatory drug rehabilitation to imprisonment and even the death penalty for certain offenses. [Example]

By being aware of the law and its implications, young individuals can make informed choices to stay away from drug-related activities and lead a drug-free lifestyle. [Explanation]

Another message I would share is that one should seek help if he or she is addicted to drugs. Several helplines are available in Singapore for individuals seeking immediate assistance and support. These helplines offer confidential and anonymous services, allowing young people to discuss their concerns or obtain information about drug abuse. [Description]

For instance, the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) assists people in recovery from drug addiction. Students can approach their school counsellors to discuss their concerns and seek advice if they face drug-related issues. [Example]

Should young people be hooked on drugs, they should not be afraid to seek support as there are organisations that can provide the necessary guidance, resources, and assistance throughout the journey to recovery. Through drug rehabilitation and support from professionals, young people can overcome drug abuse and reduce the risk of relapse. [Explantion]
