By the end of this lesson students should be able to:
a. Explain the environmental impact of the tourism system
b. describe the positive environmental impact of tourism
(i) conservation of natural environments and preservation of biodiversity to maintain natural attractions
(ii) restoration of degraded aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems to create new natural attractions
c. describe the negative environmental impact
(i) pollution caused by greenhouse gas emissions, inadequate sewage facilities, and improper waste disposal
(ii) construction of facilities and attractions encroaches on nature, depletes natural resources, and threatens wildlife habitats
