One way to help the lower-income groups in Singapore is for the government to provide more opportunities for training. [Description] For instance, the SkillsFuture initiative implemented by the government encourages lifelong learning and skills upgrading, equipping individuals with the tools to navigate evolving industries. Individuals can sign up for any relevant class at a subsidized fee.[Example] Doing so, benefits individuals in their career progression as they can develop their skills. This will allow them to have more access to other jobs that they are interested in, and may also result in better pay. Hence, they will be better able to cope with the increased cost of living. One way to help the lower-income groups in Singapore is for the government to provide subsidies and cash handouts. This can be in the form of vouchers or cash credited to Singaporeans’ bank accounts. [Description] For example the government has recently handed out $100 worth of CDC vouchers to Singaporeans. Singaporeans can use the vouchers to buy food or groceries from neighbourhood shops or supermarkets.[Example] By doing so, this will help the lower-income groups cope as they can afford food and groceries.
