Minecraft Dungeons is a great game. It has plenty of cool things and ways to do them. Here we will talk about the goods and the bads of them. So first lets talk about the backstory. The goal is to defeat the Arch-Illager and there is a ton of stuff you can do before that. There is a book of the backstory of the Arch-Illager. Its called 'The Rise of the Arch-Illager' and it is really good. You should go read it if you haven't. The run-down is the Arch-Illager (1.) is a short, weak Illager that is not strong enough to hold a good weapon and did not understand magic. So when a bully forces him into a raiding party he does not like it. When the raiding party fails he is very scared because, while he might have been spared by a hero that jumps them, his enemy is also alive mistakenly believed to be dead by the hero. When he rushes back he gets kicked out because he was believed to have been responsible for the failure. He starts his trek to becoming the real Arch-Illager with a few side-tracks along the way. He eventually finds the Orb of Domination and starts destroying everything. And then we have the place we know today in Minecraft Dungeons.
So let's talk about the levels. There are 10 levels. The tutorial level, Creeper Woods, Pumpkin Pastures, Soggy Swamp, Cacti Canyon, Redstone Mines, Desert Temple, Fiery Forge, Obsidian Pinnacle, and Highblock Halls. The first one is Squid Coast. It is considered the tutorial and you are trying to find and save any villagers. There are none but you have to kill a few vindicators, some zombies, and skeletons. You get a firework arrow and some emeralds. When you get to the end you click the table. Then you are transported to the camp and there are a few emerald chests and a training area. the is some empty areas and shopping spaces for merchants you find in the game. Next is the Creeper woods. There are a ton of zombies, skeletons, vindicators, spiders, creepers, and enchanters. Enchanters are illagers that enchant some close mobs. They can give them strength, thorns, or even strange but cool magic fire. You are trying to locate and find the missing villagers and save them. You eventually find them and you go and break their cages to free them. Also they do not follow you. They just jump and disappear.
Next is Pumpkin Pastures where you go to the village that has not been destroyed yet and the goal is to warn the villagers. It introduces the chicken jockeys, evokers, and geomancers. Geomancers are illagers that can summon a stone blockade to hinder you and exploding pillars. Once you reach the village center you ring the bell and the Arch-Illager summons an ambush on you. After that is the Soggy Swamp it introduces the witches, slimes, and Corrupted Cauldron (2.) all of which are important to the level. The witches guard their cauldrons or wander around both of which you need to destroy. The witches through potions of poison and they are pretty bad. The slimes are native to swamps in Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons. They are not especially bad but are annoying. The Corrupted Cauldron is the boss. More on that in a sec. The goal of the Soggy Swamp is to destroy the cauldrons and Defeat the boss. The swamp is a very big and annoying maze with lots of mobs spread out. There seems to be a few more armored mobs there than the previous missions. Near the end its a little less of a maze and more strait to the very bad battle. It is the Corrupted Cauldron. It is in a very annoying clearing and shoots out tones of purple slimes and a few mobs too. You really need big area attacks and big focused ones so firework arrows and the corrupted beacon.
In the cacti canyon its pretty simple and it has husks and plenty of creepers. The husks are kind of tough because they don't pull back when they are hit and have a little bit more health. All you need to do is get a few keys and get to the desert temple. There are a couple really bad necromancers. They hit you with purple cubes. The Redstone Mines you are trying to free the captured villagers. There is a mini-boss at the called the Redstone Golem(3.). It is very dangerous. It has a side-swipe attack and it also summons mines. You want to hit him while it summons the mines and run. Next is the Desert Temple. It doesn't have illagers but has skeleton vanguards (4.) which you should really just shoot with arrows and also has a boss called the Nameless One (5.) which is a horrible boss to take on. After fighting it you are basically thankful to be alive. Also you would be really angry if you were on last life and died to a trap. I almost died that way. Luckily I was with my friend and he fought the mobs.
The next is the Fiery Forge and it has a few of all the normal mobs and even a few Redstone Golems and has a tough boss called the Redstone Monstrosity (6.). The Fiery Forge is a very tough level. Next is Highblock Halls and it has with almost everything in the game thats not a boss inclucing a few Redstone Golems and a new mob the vindicator chefs(7.) . They aren't very powerful so its just free souls. Finally, the last level, the Obsidian Pinnacle is the ramparts of Highblock Halls. There are many mobs. There are a few redstone golems up there and even (though rarly) evokers. It is a very big maze. Before you adventure there you should fully level up your gear and weapons. It is important to get some powerfull artifacts too.
So I have been talking about a lot about the doom and gloom. I'll talk about some really cool stuff like the artifacts and unique weapons. I have a very lenghthy list so I'm copy and pasting it on here:Totem of soul protection, satchel of elixirs, satchel of snacks, totem of casting, tome of duplication, enchanters tome, shadow shifter, ghost cloak, vexing chant, enchanted grass, void quiver, harpoon quiver, torment quiver, satchel of elements, love medallion, corrupted seeds, corrupted pumpkin, eye of guardian, spinblade, blast fungus, scatter mines, updraft tome, and corrupted beacon.
