The above center gallery is a sneak peak at Ms. Amslers’s 7th grade trimester 2 students, starting an exciting new crystal project. 7 blue students will remember this project and most likely look back on it very fondly. This is a great project to start out art with because it teaches students to draw lightly with a pencil, use different colors while shading and making really pretty fun art! With such a fun creative project you may be surprised by the interesting inspiration. The idea came to Ms. Amsler after buying a pair of… wait for it, leggings! The leggings had ombre shaded gems, which is a funny inspiration for such a cool project.
Keep your eyes peeled, as more will be hung up in the 7th grade hallways as students finish up!
One of Ms. Amsler’s favorite projects is the clay fish project, which 7th graders did during the first trimester. Not only is playing with clay super fun for all the students, but it is also a great learning experience and always has such a cool outcome. If you want to see those awesome designs head down to the main middle school entrance right in front of the auditorium, or just browse the digital gallery above top left.
Ms. Malinowski’s trimester 1 8th graders created really impressive pumpkin batiks using oil pastels. You can visit the 7th grade hallways to check them out, or you can view them in the above top right digital gallery.
