Art 10 (3 credits)
This 3-credit course provides students with a condensed opportunity to develop technical skills and exercise personal creativity through a variety of activities and projects such as painting, drawing, 3D designs (sculpture), printmaking and mixed media. Students will develop understanding and skills in the areas of art history, art criticism and self-evaluation. There is a $35 fee for this course.
Art 10 (5 credits)
Prerequisite: None
This course provides students with an in-depth opportunity to develop technical skills and exercise personal creativity through a wide variety of activities and projects such as painting, drawing, 3D designs (ceramics and/or sculpture), printmaking and mixed media. Students will develop understanding and skills in the areas of art history, art criticism and self-evaluation. There is a $50 fee for this course.

Prerequisite: 50% in Art 10 (3 or 5 credits)
This course builds on the technical and conceptual elements explored in Art 10. Students will further develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills as they work to convey deeper meaning in their art. Art 20 emphasizes artistic and creative processes. Students will learn and experiment with both traditional and non-traditional media. Art history and art criticism are components that run through the course.
Art 20 (3 credits)
Prerequisite: 50% in Art 10 (3 or 5 credits)
Art 20 3-credit builds on the technical and conceptual elements explored in Art 10. Students will further develop their problem solving and critical thinking skills as they work to convey deeper meaning in their art. Art 20 emphasizes experimentation and the artistic and creative processes, working in acrylic paint, sculpture (working with clay is not offered in the 3-credit course), pastels and charcoal. There is a $50 fee for this course.
Prerequisite: 50% in Art 20 (3 or 5 credit)
This course encourages students to develop their own personal style and portfolio based on originality, technique, function and meaning. Students will continue to refine their skills, creativity and use of media. Art history and art criticism are components that run through the course. There is a $60 fee for this course.
Co-requisite: Art 30 (5 credits); Prerequisite: 80% in Art 20
Co-requisite: Art 30 (5 credits); Prerequisite: 80% in Art 20 (5 credit)
AP Art is recommended for highly motivated and capable students. The AP Studio Art course is designed to be the equivalent of an introductory college/university course. Students registering in AP Studio Art 35 must also register in Art 30. Students in AP Studio Art 35 will create a portfolio of art, working in a series investigating a personal line of inquiry.
