Workshop:
A strengths-based approach focuses on recognising skills and strengths relevant to students' learning and behaviour.
Through conversation and collaboration, this workshop offers Primary and Early Years educators an opportunity to explore Character Strengths and their impact on student learning and well-being, We will identify the over-use and under-use of Character Strengths and how this can support re-framing our conversations with, and approach to, students learning and behaviour. Participants are encouraged to complete the free VIA Character Strengths survey (www.viacharacter.org) before attending.
Learner Outcomes:
1. Understand the concept of a strengths-based approach in education and its potential impact on student learning and well-being.
2. Develop ways to reframe behaviour and conversations with both students and colleagues to recognise students' strengths.
3. Explore the connection between a strengths-based approach and students' motivation, engagement, and self-confidence.
