Talking Points: Proficiency Targets & Communicative Objectives 

Workshop Description:

This session is for language teachers to learn about existing frameworks of proficiency and how to use the proficiency targets to empower students and to understand what students can do with the language. This session allows teachers the opportunity to work together and discuss the use of communicative language objectives to provide meaningful, authentic contexts and goals for learning.

Learner Outcomes:

The objectives are: 

1. use C.O. meaningfully to contextualize language learning for students

2. use C.O. to provide dynamic, authentic learning goals for students

3. understand measurements of proficiency and what students can do at each level
