Workshop:
The workshop will explore different strategies to support kids aged 7-12 years old with executive functioning difficulties. Participants will learn about neurodivergence, executive functioning and its importance in regulating our everyday behaviors and strategies to implement at home and in schools. Parents, teachers and paraprofessional of kids with executive function difficulties will benefit from this workshop as they will be given a chance to write their own strategies for prepared case examples.
Learner Outcomes:
1. Explain what is neurodivergence and what it means to be neuro-affirming in the classroom.
2. Differentiate the different executive function skills and recognize these skills in their students.
3. Implement learned strategies from the workshop in their homes and classrooms.
4. Develop their own neuro-affirming strategies for their students.
Presenter:
Aldrin has been working with children with ADHD and those on the Autism Spectrum Disorder for over 10 years. He has served in schools, clinics, and hospitals always advocating for neuro-affirming care to the kids he works with. As a neurodivergent himself, he is passionate about creating safer spaces for all children where they can thrive without masking their differences. Aldrin has lived in Cambodia since 2016.
