Fraction Fun for Everyone (grades K-8)

Workshop Description:

Teaching and learning fractions can be fun for teachers and students. In this interactive workshop, teachers will participate in activities that can be used in grades K-8. You can expect to improve your conceptual understanding of fractions as well as walk away with activities to do with your students right away. This workshop is intended for teachers of grades K-8.

Learner Outcomes:

Teachers will:

-Improve their conceptual understanding of fractions

-Gain confidence in teaching fractions

-Plan an activity to use with their students right away

Presenter:

Emily Oxford is currently serving as a math and science teacher at ISPP. Emily has previously filled the roles of curriculum coordinator, instructional coach, and math specialist, as well as taught grades K-10. Emily's passion for math education stems from a desire to understand and share the "why" behind math in a way that is accessible to everyone.
