Maundene Weekly
________________________
Dear Parents/Carers,
Year 6 have been busy visiting secondary schools this week - we hope you have enjoyed the tours and have managed to make a decision. Our advice would be to go with your gut and choose the one that feels right for you and your child - everyone is different!
Year 5 have continued with their swimming lessons and have made so much progress in the ten lessons they have had. They also completed their one day theory lesson on water safety this week and showed great understanding of this when discussing it with Martin and Nathan (swimming coaches). They have also been editing their work in English to make great improvements ready to publish next week and we can't wait to see them all on display.
Year 4 have continued to work on their times table knowledge in preparation for the multiplication check in June 25. They have shown great resilience when improving their scores and are getting quicker every day. Any further daily practice at home would be greatly appreciated.
Year 3 have been busy in their PE lessons practicing their dances and giving ach other feedback. They were able to show great respect during this time and make great improvements. Well done Year 3 for listening well, putting the feedback into action and creating some amazing routines.
Year 2 has their Learning with your Child sessions and enjoyed participating in activities with their grown ups. The event started with Miss Kasabi speaking to the parents and carers and the children then joined them after this. It is always lovely to see so many adults attend and the children love working alongside them. Thank you to everyone for taking time out of your busy day to join in with this.
Year 1 enjoyed a dodgeball roadshow with Jamie, our sports coach, and had great fun learning the game and playing against their peers. It is always great to see the children being active and having fun learning new skills and a new game. Thank you to all parents and carers for sending them in their kits on a non PE day.
Year R have been busy developing their writing skills and trying really hard to form their letters correctly this week. They started by practising writing their names on wipe boards and they then moved on to writing CVC words. Well done to all the chidlren for trying their best and becoming really successful with this.
Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday.
Miss Capes, Mrs Jackson and the Maundene Team
Once again we have had concerned residents from around Maundene school complain about inconsiderate parking at drop off and pick up times. Please can you ensure you are not parking across driveways or in allocated bays. We strongly encourage people to if you can or park in Morrisons car park and walk up to school.
Please can we ask for donations to be handed into school in preparation for Harvest Assembly which will take place on Monday 7th October. This year we will be donating all that we receive to the Medway Food Bank to help our local community.
