Non-Specialist Training for Mathematics and Numeracy
The PL Session will:
• develop a greater understanding of key mathematical concepts
• explore common misconceptions and how to expose and eliminate them
• consider teaching strategies which enhance a deep understanding of mathematical learning
• examine the effectiveness of a range of question and resources to support learner progress

Mathematical Representations: making connections between the concrete, the pictorial and the abstract
The PL Session will:
• explore a range of concrete manipulatives to support the learning and understanding of mathematics and numeracy
• consider the usefulness of a variety of pictorial representations of mathematical thinking
• examine how to effectively flow between different representations to support learner progression in conceptual understanding

Secondary teachers of Mathematics and Numeracy

Due to the planned strike on Thursday March 2nd, we are rescheduling this training on Mathematical Representations for the following Thursday instead, on March 9th.
