Module 2
¿Qué tipo de persona eres?
Lesson 1: ¿Como estas?
Module 1
Las formas y el arte
Lesson 1: ¿Qué és? What is?
In Spanish this week, we learnt how to say and correctly pronounce the shapes in Spanish by using the context of a video to work out unfamiliar words. We had a huge focus on the pronunciation of sounds in Spanish compared to English which helped us to be able to say the words correctly. We looked at some words that had missing vowels and used our previous knowledge to fill in the missing sounds. After learning the shapes, we used our knowledge to answer ‘is it this or that shape’ questions and then we listened to some Spanish words and wrote down what we could hear.

Lesson 2: ¿De qué color es?
Identify colours and shapes in a picture
During our Spanish lesson today, we began our lesson by recapping words in Spanish with the [u] sound, for example [u]niverso. We then moved on to recapping the shapes that we looked at last week and their Spanish name. After that, we described a picture using a sentence and explored adjectives that become feminine when the noun is feminine and the adjective becoming masculine when the noun is masculine. In addition, we looked at plurals when describing how many of the shapes there were in the picture. We then used our chromebooks to create the shapes that we were being told in Spanish.

broaden their vocabulary and develop their ability to understand new words that are introduced into familiar written material, including through using a dictionary
understand basic grammar appropriate to the language being studied, including (where relevant): feminine, masculine and neuter forms and the conjugation of high-frequency verbs; key features and patterns of the language; how to apply these, for instance, to build sentences; and how these differ from or are similar to English.
Lesson 3: ¿Qué necesitamos?
What do we need?
This week we looked at describing a picture using shapes and colours and thinking about what we need to be able to create our own image using shapes and colours.
We recapped the sound [e] and noticed that a lot of our new vocabulary that we have been learning contains this sound. After that, we used our listening skills to translate the different shapes and colours that appeared in a picture of a house and record this on our chart.

Lesson 4: ¿Qué necesitamos?
Write to describe a picture using shapes and colours
We practised pronunciation for [i] sound in Spanish. We then recapped our learning of the term I see (Veo) to describe what we could see in a picture. We shared these as a class during a speaking exercise before moving on to writing our own description for the houses we created last week. We then ended our piece of writing by giving our opinion of our house, explaining why like or why we do not like it.
