Module 5 - Climate and Biomes
Weather:
We focused on the weather that we get in this country. We created a daily entry and recorded the weather for 6 days to see how the weather within our climate. We then looked at the weather from across the UK and were able to compare the weather in Hoo with the weather, on the same days, across the UK.
NC: physical geography, including: climate zones, biomes and vegetation belts, rivers, mountains, volcanoes and earthquakes, and the water cycle
Biomes:
We have been looking at biomes and finding out what the different ones are and where these are found across the world. We located the different biomes on a map and identify a range of different countries that fall within each biome.
NC: use maps, atlases, globes and digital/computer mapping to locate countries and describe features studied
Module 6
Technology hunt:
We have been looking at how technology has adapted and changed over the years within our Inquiry. Because of this, today we did a fieldwork lesson where we had to move around the school and identify the different types of technology that we have within our school and mark it on a table that showed our results. After exploring the school we then spoke about what we had found and what our key findings were.
NC: use fieldwork to observe, measure, record and present the human and physical features in the local area using a range of methods, including sketch maps, plans and graphs, and digital technologies.
Interpreting Data
Today we created tables and a graph that showed information regarding technology across the school. We needed to select 6 different items of technology and then create a graph to show the importance of them.
NC: use fieldwork to observe, measure, record and present the human and physical features in the local area using a range of methods, including sketch maps, plans and graphs, and digital technologies.
