Course overview - Term 2
During this term learners will be concluding the UK in the 21st Century Unit 7 from last term and completing a short assessment on this topic as it was not assessed in the mock exams.
This will include 3 CASE STUDIES on; Cambridge economic hub; The UK’s involvement in the war in Afghanistan and how ethnic groups have contributed to cultural life in the UK.
The final unit for the GCSE course is Resource Reliance where the key questions are Will we run out of natural resources? and Can we feed nine billion people by 2050? Learners will find out about theories and the reality of food security, how we manage resources globally and how this may need to change in the future. This will include a 3 part CASE STUDY about food security in Ethiopia in the past, on a small scale and on a national scale.
We will also write up our field work this term and use it to practice the exam section linked to field work.
