Course overview - Study Period 1
During the first study period: Learners will study religious, moral and ethical considerations surrounding war and peace. They will learn about St Thomas Aquinas’ Just War Theory, and consider the implications of non-conventional approaches to war, including the use of drones and indiscriminate weapons like nuclear missiles. They will learn about holy war and Jihad, as well as responses to terrorism, and how countries reconcile following wars.
