International Advertising

In this project, students were challenged to design a compelling advertisement for an existing brand — with one major twist: every ad had to be created entirely in a foreign language.

Designers selected a company and developed a visually cohesive campaign that communicates a clear message, emotional tone, and target audience without relying on English. This forced students to think more deeply about universal visual communication: how imagery, composition, hierarchy, color, and typography can transcend language barriers.

By working in another language, students had to carefully research tone, cultural nuance, and brand voice. The result is a collection of ads that feel globally aware and professionally intentional. From surreal visual metaphors and dramatic photo composites to refined lifestyle branding and bold typographic statements, each piece demonstrates strategic thinking paired with strong technical execution.

This assignment emphasizes concept development, cultural research, and the power of design to communicate across borders. These works show that great advertising doesn’t just translate words, it translates ideas.
