Info Graphic
Rather than presenting information in a traditional written report, students use layout, typography, icons, charts, color, and hierarchy to organize information visually. The goal is to guide the viewer through the information in a logical sequence while making the design attractive and readable.
Students begin by selecting a topic that contains meaningful data or statistics. They then research and collect reliable information before planning how that information can be simplified and communicated visually. Through sketching and layout planning, students determine how to structure their infographic using clear sections, headings, and supporting graphics.
During the design process, students focus on several core graphic design principles including hierarchy, alignment, contrast, balance, and consistency. Strong infographics make complex information easier to understand by organizing it visually and eliminating unnecessary clutter.
The final design demonstrates thoughtful layout, clear visual communication, and effective use of typography, color, and graphic elements. Successful projects communicate information quickly and clearly while maintaining a strong, professional design.
This gallery features examples of student infographics created in Graphic Design 2. Each piece demonstrates how research, visual organization, and creative design can work together to turn raw information into a compelling visual story.
