Mrs. Quesada's Class
Week 19
Week 19
Happy New Year! Welcome to 5th grade, 2026!
Check in with your student this week as we return to school, and make sure you ask if they need anything restocked in their extras bags!
I hope our 5th graders were busy reading their challenge books over our break! Here is the link to the "book sleuth sheet" that they need to complete once they finish a book. I have many printed in the classroom that students can pick up this week, but this link is if your student would like to print and finish at home. This is what we will go over at our closing meetings. Remember, your students' five mandated books have to be read, sheet completed, and meeting with me finished by January 29th. There is a sheet students received about our reading challenge in their binders behind the reading tab to give you further informaiton!
Some New Year FYI:
Please look out for our school's reenrollment email/notifications coming to your inboxes (January 12.) Getting those completed promptly helps our school plan for our future 2026/2027 school year!
Maps Testing begins January 12th through the 23rd. More about our schedule will be on our next school website entry!
RED Friday is coming up Friday, January 16th. R.E.D. stands for Remembering Everyone Deployed, and wearing RED on a Friday helps us be mindful of the deployed and the sacrifices their families make. We have so many amazing military families at Hanford Christian, and we want to thank them and support them!
Please make sure that whatever library books were checked out on December 18, that those same books are brought back to school to be safely here by January 5th! We want to be sure that the students are able to renew or return their books to the Library by Thursday, January 8th.

Have your fifth grader also be able to write two sentences describing what "repentance" is to them! (They can use words from the verse to describe it, as well!) Here is a picture that can help you discuss "repentance" with them!
