From Mrs. Barrios: ** I have made a slight change to how math is being graded this quarter and wanted you to be aware of this change. Students will still get a daily work grade based on the completion of their HW page, but if a student gets more than 1/3 of the problems wrong on their page, it will be sent home again as homework and will need to be worked on with a homework helper. The homework helper can be a parent, grandparent, older sibling, babysitter, or any other person who is older than a fifth grade student :). The HW helper should sit next to the student as they are making their corrections and correct them if they are making any mistakes. The HW helper then needs to sign the HW page. If the page is returned and still has mistakes, the worksheet will be sent home a second time and a point will be deducted from the student's completion grade. I am hoping this will be a way that students can better understand the concepts being taught and get the extra help they may need at home. You will get an email informing you if your child needs to redo any work with a HW partner during the school day. **

Isaiah 12:4-6 "Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion for great is the Holy One of Israel among you."
*This verse will be assessed on Friday, November 7. This is the school-wide memory verse, but since it is a longer one we wanted to give students some time to start studying it.**
