As we are getting closer to end of the first quarter on October 14th, it is important for your children to be keeping an eye on their grades. Mrs. Barrios, Mrs. Anker, and I give the students an opportunity to check their grades weekly and encourage them to come and talk to us about missing or failing work. I have had students come to me and ask how they can get their grade up, and my best advice to them is do your work well, completely, and HANDED IN ON TIME the FIRST time! Those late assignments do begin to have an effect on your child's grade!  Please have a conversation with your student at home about taking these opportunities to improve. They need to take responsibility to come and talk to their teachers and follow through with handing in the extra work given to them. We all want to see each student feel successful this year! 

Your fifth grade students worked SO HARD at Walnut Gleaning this last week! Thank you again to the TeVelde Family for letting us glean, and learn that our hard work glorifies God! 

October 6th is an opportunity for picture retakes. More information about how to reorder is coming! Reach out to the office if you are interested! 

This week Friday is a Pizza Day! Please have your fifth grader ready to let me know by Wednesday if they are ordering some!

Monday: Band 

BRING INSTRUMENT AND MUSIC BOOK!

Tuesday: Music (Choir) & Spanish

Wednesday: PE (BRING YOUR UNIFORMS!)  & Art (Every other week)

Thursday: Library (MAKE SURE BOOKS ARE IN BACKPACKS!) 

Friday: PE  (BRING YOUR UNIFORMS!) 

Remember, if your student is wanting extra practice with a concept, or some timed test practice, our 5th grade Resources page is a great place to find these items for them! 

Vocabulary: Please check in with your student each night and see if they have completed another section of their packet and/or studied their words and definitions . The packet due date and the quiz on the definitions are on Friday, October 9th.
