The End of Quarter 1 is Wednesday!  Please be checking in with your student as they bring items home that have been graded. Your student should also be having conversations with you as you look at the weekly/bi-weekly grade report that is emailed to you. I have had students come to me and ask how they can get their grade up, and my best advice to them is do your work well, completely, and HANDED IN ON TIME the FIRST time! Those late assignments do begin to have an effect on your child's grade! Be sure that you support your 5th grader in coming to talk with Mrs. Anler or me about questions they have about their grades. 

As we are beginning second quarter, it is important that our students have all the items they need for learning. Please check in with your student and ask them if they need anything restocked in their "extras bags," such as pencils, erasers, expo markers, etc. 

Sign-ups for Parent Teacher Conferences will be ready for you to sign up soon. You will just need to sign up with your child's homeroom teacher. There will be comments from Mrs. Anker in Math that I will read for you at your child's conference.  If you have any concerns in Math after you see the report card, please take sometime to email Mrs. Anker before conferences.   

This coming week our students will have their pre-k to fifth grade chapel. Our fifth graders have worked so hard preparing to lead their fellow students in prayer and worship! Please make sure that your student wears their blue spirit wear shirt if they are involved this week. We would love to see you there! 

We are still having our 5th graders struggling to bring the appropriate items for their specials classes to school on the appropriate day! Have these items ready to go the night before or even in the car, so that your student can feel successful and ready for their day! Our weekly specials are as follows: 

Monday: Band 

BRING INSTRUMENT AND MUSIC BOOK!

Tuesday: Music (Choir) & Spanish

Wednesday: PE (BRING YOUR UNIFORMS!)  & Art (Every other week)

Thursday: Library (MAKE SURE BOOKS ARE IN BACKPACKS!) 

Friday: PE  (BRING YOUR UNIFORMS!) 

Remember, if your student is wanting extra practice with a concept, or some timed test practice, our 5th grade Resources page is a great place to find these items for them! 

If you are having your student log on to google classroom at home, here is a helpful video of how to log on in steps. 

On October 27th we will be having a special welcome home Prayer and Pledge to those that have come back from the USS Abraham Lincoln. Please plan to wear Red White and Blue in lieu of Spirit Wear that day, as we want to show these families and students support and encouragement!
