Mrs. Quesada's Class
Week 23
Week 23
Our Valentine's Day Party will be on February 13th, and our amazing room moms are planning to bring lunch for our students that day! If you are planning to have your student bring Valentines, please make sure to bring enough for everyone; there are 22 students in our class 8 Boys,, 14 Girls. Please have your child make a valentines box/bag at home. There will be a contest that the room moms are running to see who has the most creative "valentine's mail box." Kindness is Cool Week will be leading up to Valentines Day (February 9-13) and its purpose it to create "Kind community" across our campus! Look for the dress up days banner on the home page of our newsletter! Preschool- 5th Grade Chapel will be that Wednesday, February 11th!
Each Friday, the 5th Grade is in charge of ice cream sales for the school. We would love parent volunteers to help oversee these sales. Parents that volunteer will need to be at school around 11:15 to prep for sales starting at 11:30 and are typically finished around 12:15. If you would be willing to help with these sales, please contact Molly Phillips at 559-991-1405.
Please be diligent in reminding your student to check their planners nightly for any assignment due dates, or upcoming quizzes/tests. As we are continually working on organization and independence, this is such an important tool to have. Make sure nightly work is done on the vocabulary/spelling packet, states and capitals packet, and the studying of memory verse, to ensure your student is taking their time on the material!
Grandparents Day at Hanford Christian will take place on February 27. Grandparents can come to school at 10:15 AM, and the doors will open to the gym at 9:15. Our program will be from 10:30 to 11, and then grandparents can go and visit their grandchildren's classrooms from 11-11:30. This is also a half-day; students can leave with their families from campus at 11:30. Your students should have brought home an invite card they designed for their grandparents they wish to invite, either on Friday, or will bring theirs home Monday this week!
Following our Grandparents' Day activities on Friday, February 27, the seventh grade class will be hosting an In 'N' Out lunch fundraiser on our campus. Each meal consists of a cheeseburger, a bag of potato chips, and a bottle of water. Consider bringing a blanket and making it a picnic, or you may eat your lunches at any of the picnic tables across the campus. Lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 and tables will be set up outside the 4th and 5th grade classrooms. The cost for each meal is $10; please bring cash or a check (payable to Hanford Christian School).
This fundraiser helps fund the students' trip to Washington DC in the spring of 2027. This is a wonderful trip and an experience they will never forget.
Additionally, our school is hosting a book sale in the gym. When you have finished eating, please check it out.

“Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.’”
Matthew 22:37-40
This is our school wide Memory Verse!
Have some conversations at home of how "love" for God and for our neighbors can be a part of your student's everyday life!
