Hello Bear Family,
Happy Thanksgiving! I am so thankful to be a part of this community. I was talking with a few people from other schools around the state recently, and I was reminded how very blessed we are. We have some amazing students and staff who do amazing things here!
So let's CELEBRATE!! (please keep scrolling to see pictures below)
Congratulations to our State Runner Up Softball team who finished a historical season in Columbus! It was so much fun to see our kids at school rally behind our team watching the games in the cafeteria and on screens in classrooms.
Congratulation to our GHP finalists who will move on to the next part of the process in early 2025!
Congratulations to our All State choral students! Congratulations to our All Star Jazz band participants!
Congratulations to our boys and girls Cross Country teams who finished 10th and 13th respectively at the State Championships this year!
Finally, congratulations to Coach Cooper and our Competition Cheer team, the first team in CBHS history, to be named State Champions! This team represented our community so well, not only when competing, but in the way they conducted themselves on and off the mat in Macon.
I recently shared the following with our staff after seeing social media painted purple with all of our students' achievements, "Not all schools love like family, not all schools root for each other, not all schools hold each other accountable…not all schools are Home. We are not all schools…we are CBHS! It’s a GREAT day to be a BEAR!!!"
Make good choices, and, always, Go Bears!

IDs and Dress Code
Our Dress Code is listed below, and a great visual reminder was created by one of our teachers is referenced to the right.
IDs are part of our school dress code and are issued to all students and staff and are expected to be visibly worn on a lanyard around the neck during the school day.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
Please make note of the following updated testing dates happening the last 2 weeks before winter break. It is very important for students to be present for these tests.
Midterm Testing Dates -
ELA CBA testing week December 9 - 13
Dec. 16: Science and Modern Language
Dec. 17: Math (CBA's) and Health/PE
Dec. 18: CTAE and ELA
Dec. 19: Fine Arts, Math (Midterms) and Social Studies
There will be NO Winter School this year. Please make sure you check your student's grades and watch for communication from their teacher as the semester draws to a close.
Save the Date!
Pre-Registration Night is January 16th from 6 - 7:30pm.
This will be for all current 8th - 11th graders. This night is a
great opportunity to hear about every course and opportunity
available to our students for the 2025-2026 school year.
AP Students: Make sure you have created a CollegeBoard account and used the 6 digit Join Code given by your teacher to gain access to your course material.

Hey One Bear Nation,
Just a quick note to say how fortunate we are to be in a community like ours. You all turn out to wear purple and support our Bears every step of the way. It is something that our student athletes and coaches know without a doubt. We have had some amazing things happen this Fall season and are grateful for each of them. But, more importantly, we are thankful for you being there every step of the way. Have wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Did you know...Each year 46 million turkeys are cooked. Thanksgiving Day and turkey go hand-in-hand, so this number shouldn't be too much of a surprise. Although not all Americans celebrate the holiday or eat turkey, there are still millions of families gathering around the table to partake in one of the most special meals of the year—and for those who aren't satisfied with only one day of it, Christmas is also a popular occasion to cook another turkey.
