Hello Bear Family,
As we have now completed the first month of 2025, my heart starts to pick up speed a little. The crazy Georgia weather reminds us that in a blink we can go from a snow day to spring like temperatures, and so the pace of the school year too rapidly moves forward.
Parents of seniors, I encourage you to soak in these moments. Just like those late nights when they were newborns, there are moments of frustrations, a few tears, and the worries of just being a parent now as well. (I keep looking for the parenting guide, but have yet to find it myself!) Simply, emotions are flowing for you and for your students. Don't wish it away!
For parents of all other students, we are in the throws of registration. There is A LOT of information regarding options for your students. Continue to talk with your students about what they have learned from their teachers, from their time in Innovation, and from their meetings with our registration team. If you have questions about the process, please reach out to our student services department and they can get you in touch with someone who can answer your questions. It is so important that students make good informed decisions now, so that they are best placed next Fall.
Next week we will be going through our Georgia School Assessment on Performance Standards (GSAP) Review. This is a great way for us to grow as a school community, and we are excited for the feedback. If you have not already completed the survey, which was sent out last week, I am asking for your feedback. I thank you in advance for your help in the growth of CBHS.

IDs and Dress Code
Our Dress Code is listed below, and a great visual reminder was created by one of our teachers is referenced to the right.
IDs are part of our school dress code and are issued to all students and staff and are expected to be visibly worn on a lanyard around the neck during the school day.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
All lunchroom balances must be paid off each month. Balances carry over year to year. It is also important to remember that you are unable to walk at graduation without having a $0 balance. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. Below is the link to look at your personalized MyPaymentPlus account.
Is your student 16? If so, they MUST have the Meningitis Booster.
Reminder: All Immunization MUST be up-to-date. If you have a student turning 16 they are due an immunization that must be on file at the school.

Hey One Bear Nation,
Just a quick note to say how fortunate we are to be in a community like ours. You all turn out to wear purple and support our Bears every step of the way. It is something that our student athletes and coaches know without a doubt. We have had some amazing things happen this Fall season and are grateful for each of them. But, more importantly, we are thankful for you being there every step of the way. Have wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Go Bears,

*These four students will now go on
to represent us at the County level…
Our Cherokee Bluff Winterguard participated in their first competition of the season at Whitewater High School, earning an impressive 6th place out of 12 competing groups. This accomplishment is particularly significant as it marks our program's return to Winterguard competitions for the first time since 2019. The commitment and perseverance of our students were on full display, and they will continue refining their performance based on the valuable feedback received. With two more competitions ahead, we are excited to see their continued growth.
