The month of November typically is one that flies by, and this November did not disappoint! We started our month off with our Sources of Strength students focusing on our trusted adults in the building, random acts of kindness, and our students' positive relationships. We finished up fall sports and have jumped into our winter sports. Our fine arts have concerts and plays coming up in the next few weeks for you to check out as well!
Later in the month, we had the opportunity to talk with our students about maintaining a safe and secure school. All teachers had conversations about why we wear our IDs and how we must all work together to keep CBHS a safe environment. Even in my own home, I can sometimes become complacent or of the mindset that "it's not going to happen to us," but these classroom discussions open the door to further conversations from students on campus as well those who travel between campuses throughout the day. If your student has a question or a concern, please have them reach out to me or the other administrators as we are happy to listen and offer our thoughts.
These next few weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks are so vitally important for student success. Here are a few tips to be able to finish strong this semester.
1) Be fully here - that means being attentive and actively participating in class, not off task or in the halls
2) Check Infinite Campus - check to see if you have any missing assignments and talk with your teachers to get things made up
3) Keep a calendar of upcoming due dates - the end of the semester typically brings with it tests, projects, and final assignments... plan out your time so that you don't miss anything
4) Don't miss an opportunity - be on the look out for additional help for a difficult class or maybe a makeup assignment for something you missed earlier in the year
5) Finally, get to bed! - With the added stress of the holidays, deadlines, and social gatherings, don't forget that we are much better when we have had enough rest.
Personally, I have been doing a lot of reflecting this week (and, well, most of this school year). I am so very grateful to have been able to join the Bluff Family and get to meet so many of you. Thank you for making me feel welcome and for supporting this community.
Be grateful, Make good choices, and Go Bears!
Mrs. Ramsey
As the weather changes, a few dress code reminders:
1) The top or outer layer worn with leggings should hit the legs at fingertip length.
2) No sleep attire should be worn to school. (This includes robes, slippers, onesie pajamas etc)
3) hats and hoods are not permitted within the building.
Also, if your student "borrowed" a top from the front office so that they met dress code, please return those to Ms. Tess.
Our Student Agenda is available HERE
Please help us encourage our students to follow the dress code during the school day.
All visitors, students and staff are expected to wear an ID while on campus. Make sure that anyone who is visiting campus checks in through the main office.
Parents can go to MyPaymentsPlus to purchase a second ID if your child looses it. It is the expectation for and the responsibility of the students to wear their IDs daily.
