Hello Bear Family,
We made it through first semester! We are so proud of our students and staff for all of their hard work these past few months. Wow, we sure have had opportunities to watch so many of our students shine brightly this fall and early winter.
While some of you may be scurrying around to finish shopping and baking and cleaning, I truly hope you all get to rest in the joy that time with your loved ones can bring. I hope you will soak up the last few moments of this year reminiscing on the events, memories, and celebrations of 2024.
All of Hall County School District will be closed until January 6. Students will return to classes January 7th.
Happy Holidays! Make good choices, and, always, Go Bears!
Mrs. Ramsey

IDs and Dress Code
Our Dress Code is listed below, and a great visual reminder was created by one of our teachers is referenced to the right.
IDs are part of our school dress code and are issued to all students and staff and are expected to be visibly worn on a lanyard around the neck during the school day.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.
All lunchroom balances must be paid off each month. Balances carry over year to year. It is also important to remember that you are unable to walk at graduation without having a $0 balance. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. Below is the link to look at your personalized MyPaymentPlus account.
Is your student 16? If so, they MUST have the Meningitis Booster.
Reminder: All Immunization MUST be up-to-date. If you have a student turning 16 they are due an immunization that must be on file at the school.

Hey One Bear Nation,
Just a quick note to say how fortunate we are to be in a community like ours. You all turn out to wear purple and support our Bears every step of the way. It is something that our student athletes and coaches know without a doubt. We have had some amazing things happen this Fall season and are grateful for each of them. But, more importantly, we are thankful for you being there every step of the way. Have wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Go Bears,
Coach Hill
Swim Team
Swim continues a strong season and is looking forward to a great finish January 18th at the Hall County championships. December also meant we took some away from the pool as a team to do service and worked as volunteers at the Autism Speaks Atlanta Walk. It was a cold but fun morning followed by a fun day at Six Flags after!
Wrestling
The Cherokee Bluff Wrestling Team continues to improve in preparation for dual team competition for County, Region, and State. They are focused on refining their techniques, building strength, conditioning, and developing a strong team mentality to achieve their goals.
Girls Basketball
Girls Basketball is off to a good start! Lanierland is this weekend, and after a Day 1 victory we are pulling for a history making Lanierland for our girls.
Boys Basketball
The men’s basketball team is currently ranked 7th in Class 3A and has started the season only losing 1 game. Lanierland is underway and we are hoping to defend our title as Lanierland Champs this weekend. Come out and support!
Levi Selman, one of our seniors, has been selected as one of only two drummers in the prestigious Georgia All-State Jazz Band. This is an extraordinary honor, achieved by less than 1% of the over 5,000 students who auditioned statewide. Levi’s selection places him among the top young jazz musicians in Georgia, regardless of school size or classification.
Levi’s accomplishment is the musical equivalent of winning an individual state championship—an incredible testament to his years of hard work, countless hours of practice, and relentless pursuit of excellence. As part of this honor, Levi will perform with the All-State Jazz Band at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) In-Service Conference in Athens, GA, from January 30 to February 1, 2024.
In addition to this remarkable achievement, Levi has applied to several prestigious universities, including the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, where he plans to continue his journey as a musician and scholar.
Please join me in congratulating Levi on this well-deserved recognition and in celebrating the dedication and talent he exemplifies. This is a proud moment for our school and community!
Congratulations to Jack Martin for being the highest scoring student from CBHS at the Kennesaw State University Mathematics Competition. This competition had 1,380 students from 126 Georgia Public and Private Schools.
Our Band recently marched and represented CBHS at Christmas on Green St. giving fabulous performances, and always representing us in the upmost way! Way to go Band!
Chorus gave us beautiful performances on Christmas on Green St. They were shining examples of the talent that is here at CBHS, and we could not be more proud of them!
Congratulations to Head Coach Josh Joiner and Senior Kaitlyn Herren for being named 2024 Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for AAA Softball. You guys had fantastic seasons and we are very proud of your accomplishments.

The iconic Christmas tree has a lot of roots (forgive the pun). Ancient Egyptians used to mark the winter solstice by decorating their homes with green palms, while the Romans celebrated Saturnalia with evergreen boughs. These green plants signified that the spring would return with new life. The first Christmas trees as we know them today started in Germany in the 16th Century.
