Hello Bear Family,
I am thrilled to report that it has been a great start to our school year! Students and teachers seem to have found their way to new classes, even our newest students! For safety reasons, we continue to ask all people in our building to all wear an ID of some sort. Our students have done a great job getting into the routine of remembering to bring their IDs and keeping them on during the day. Keep it up!
If you are new to The Bluff, check out the Bear Weekly sent out each week with the happenings around campus and among our student groups. Our campus is buzzing with activity, so come check out a game, a concert, or a show soon.
As I share this summer, we are working on keeping our students engaged in their classes and off of their phones. While this is not a new rule, it has taken some getting used to, but I feel like, again, your kids continue to make the transition from summertime into the school year as well as we could hope for!
Did you know that our students utilize a program called SmartPass when they leave a classroom? You can check with any of their teachers (or you can have them log in) to show you how much time they are away from class to go to the restroom or get water or grab a snack at vending.
I hope you all have a great long holiday weekend! Make good choices, love you, and Go Bears!

IDs and Dress Code
Our Dress Code is listed below, and a great visual reminder was created by one of our teachers is referenced to the right.
IDs are part of our school dress code and are issued to all students and staff and are expected to be visibly worn on a lanyard around the neck during the school day.
Please consider these guidelines when purchasing Back to School clothes. While our first concern is that students remain in class, students who consistently defy the dress code will have consequences beginning with calling a parent or guardian to bring other clothing to school and ending with possible ISS for not following school rules.

Every Hall County high school has a program unique to their school, and our program at CBHS focuses on servant leadership. LEGACY offers students the opportunity to develop their leadership potential while leading their school and community in service projects. We hold our LEGACY students to a high standard both in and out of the classroom.
Students take LEGACY as an elective class each year, but only rising 9th and 10th graders can apply beginning each October.
This year, our goal is to lead our school in service projects and encourage all CBHS students to participate. If you have a club or class that would like to partner with us in service, please let me know!
If you have a few minutes, you can learn more about our program from our LEGACY video. (A special shout out to our new administrator, Mr. Shannon Reed, who put this together last year!)
Thank you for your support!
The Bears are in action everywhere! Softball currently sits at 7-4 and in 1st place of Region 8AAA. The non-region portion of the schedule is highly competitive and that ultimately helps in match-ups against region opponents. After defeating Monroe Area yesterday 5-0, they will be back in action at home next week vs East Forsyth (9/3) and North Oconee (9/4).
X-country had an early season meet and did well battling the heat and several other schools at the North Georgia Two Mile Stage Races. Their next meet is September 5 at the North Hall Invitational. These Bears are about to show what they're made of and that hard work pays big dividends.
Volleyball is 13-5 through this point in the season. These Bears are not afraid to take on anybody. They are away next week and will compete in the Rocky Top Classic in Tennessee. Be sure to catch a match when you get a chance.
Finally, the Football team is 2-0 on the season, with big wins over Lumpkin County (31-20) and Apalachee (49-7). Come out and see what Friday nights under the lights is all about at Yona Field.

Some late start Wednesdays are Student Enrichment/Remediation Wednesdays. Student's will have the opportunity to come in to get extra help, make up work, or brush up on a subject. Student's must make arrangements with the teacher, so the teachers knows who they are expecting on these mornings. This is a great opportunity for student's and we hope they take advantage of it. Below is a schedule of these Wednesdays for first semester.
