Hello Bear Family and Happy 2024!
I recently caught a commercial for the Georgia lottery with images of students in caps and gowns, and it reminded me that our seniors are in the homestretch. For parents of the Class of 2024, be sure to take those memory "snapshots" and enjoy every one of them. When we go through baby and early childhood pictures of our children, I am in awe of how they grow and change in their friend groups, their interests, and their personalities. I know I have been guilty of moving so quickly from day to day, that I may have missed the moments of joy, even through the "teenage tension." For non-senior parents, the speed of time picks up each semester. Please encourage your students to make choices that help them get to the future they dream about. Daily choices can have long reaching results!
Our students and teachers are back in full swing as we round out January. Before missing assignments start piling up, please help us encourage students to stay on top of their grades, talk to teachers if there are issues, and seek out extra academic help now rather than waiting until the end of the semester. We have NHS tutoring available on campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also, most teachers are available to meet before or after school as long as they know a student is coming in; not to mention the Wednesday morning times once a month.
Please scroll down to see so many of the happenings here at the Bluff. The Spring is a busy time, and we don't want anyone to miss out! Make it a great week, make good choices, and Go BEARS!

No matter where our students will find themselves after high school, there will be set expectations including things like dress codes and wearing of ids. Attire for a football game or weekend activity are not the same as the dress code on campus. Parents, please help guide your students to make good choices as it relates to choice of school day attire.
Wearing IDs is the expectations every day, all day. Lately, too many students are choosing to not follow this school rule. Consequences such as detentions or ISS can result from choosing to break school rules.
Please refer to the dress code (Handbook pg 8; to the side) and visible reminder (below).
One of ways to make good choices and be a leader is by making good choices each morning!
Jacob Vokal and Ty Corbin are leading our spring athletes and community in Spring Cleaning our athletic facilities at 9am on February 3rd and March 2nd. They will provide trash bags and gloves.

Volunteer opportunities at Eagle Ranch will be available this spring. Caleb Davis, Michael Arbour, and Ethan Muyres plan to lead CBHS students and will be sending out more information soon.
47 of our LEGACY students recently went to the Disney Leadership Retreat in Orlando, FL at Walt Disney World. They got to participate in hearing from Disney Leaders and doing activities to strengthen their roles as leaders here at CBHS. This was a great opportunity for our LEGACY students.

As our Winter season sports near their conclusions, let's take a second to give them a shout out! Wrestling is winding down to State Tournament time and we wish everyone participating the best of luck. The same go for Swimming, as there are many Bears that have qualified for the upcoming State Meet. Basketball has just a few games left until the Region Tournament and our teams have high expectations. Both are hopeful for the opportunity to compete in the State Tournament. Our Men's Basketball Team made history by winning our first ever Lanierland Championship! Spring sports are in full swing and braving the weather to gear up for their seasons. We've got Bears participating in Baseball, Golf, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, and Track. All spring sport schedules can be found on our website, above on The Bluff Bulletin, on the Bear Weekly, and on all forms of social media each week. This is also the perfect time to remind everyone of the important role Sportsmanship plays in athletics. Student athletes have the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves. When we, as fans or athletes, fail to act with integrity, it takes away from this in so many ways. Support our Bears by lifting them up without putting others down. It is never acceptable to yell at coaches, players, officials or opposing fans. As always, it's a great day to be a BEAR!
Go Bears,
Kenny Hill
Athletic Director
