Hello, Bear Family!
Not sure if I am the only one, but it does not seem possible that the holidays are within view!
As we peek at the end of another semester quickly approaching, we want to partner with you to help get our students set up for success. Not sure how to check your child's grades or attendance in Infinite Campus or how to be an observer on Canvas? Click here or go to the Parent/Students FAQs on our webage. What does success look like for a high school student?
1) Be present (for your student) - every day, all day. Checking out of 7th period or coming in late to 1st period regularly can take its toll on what your student is learning as well as keeping up with all assignments and due dates.
2) Be a Canvas observer (For the parent/guardian)- Did you know that many teachers keep an ongoing calendar on their Canvas page? This is a great way to talk with your teen about time management and organization. Ask what assignments they have coming up, and then work together to figure out how they can balance home / school time to get those assignments done.
3) Be your child's silent supporter (For the parent/guardian) - Now, some may be questioning my use of the word "silent"... this does not mean that we don't want to hear from you. However, the teenage years should be a time of learning how to advocate for themselves as our students grow into adulthood. Help coach them to seek out help on their own for things that are difficult or are confusing. This is a difficult skill, but a crucial skill that they will need as they transition into adulthood.
Many teachers offer extra assistance before or after school. Your student can email or talk with their teachers to set up a time that works for both of them. Let's not wait until December to try to catch up.
Take care, make good choices, and as always, Go Bears!!

No matter where our students will find themselves after high school, there will be set expectations including things like dress codes and ids. Some of our students are struggling to remember where particular items of clothing are appropriate. Attire for a football game or weekend activity are not the same as the dress code on campus.
Please refer to the dress code and visible reminder.
One of ways to make good choices and be a leader is by making good choices each morning!
Keep an eye for upcoming opportunities for service that will be lead by our Legacy students.
Campus Clean-Up dates and information will be sent out soon via the school Remind account as well as posted on our website!
SAVE THE DATE - Monday, January 8th will be our Pre-Registration Night. All 8th - 11th grade students and parents are encouraged to attend. We will have a lot of information about the registration process, courses offered, graduation requirements, and so much more!
On Monday, Oct. 23rd, over 70 AP students participated in the first Trivia Night of this school year. Students enjoyed pizza, desserts, good music, peer collaboration, challenging questions, and friendly competition. Organized and led by Mr. Jeremy Purdy, AP Trivia Night is a "can't miss" opportunity for Advanced Placement students.
Our next Trivia Night date will be announced soon. Stay tuned.
Fall Sports have come to an end, or are close to ending. Each sport had tremendous amounts of success, and we are so proud of all of them. Good luck to all of our Fall teams that are heading into post season events. Our Girls XC team, Comp Cheer, and Football are all headed to post season and going to keep working to work towards championships. Winter sports are beginning and we can't wait to see these athletes and their teams excel. Wrestling, Women's and Men's Basketball, and Swim are all gearing up or have just started. As always, you can find all of our teams schedule on the calendars above, calendars on our website (cbhs.hallco.org), or all of their individual social media outlets.
As always, it is GREAT to be a BEAR!

Volleyball finished up 3rd in Region 7-AAAA. They finished the season playing excellent. They went to the first Round of Playoffs and played to the last second, falling short to Lovett. It was an outstanding season!
Softball finished their season on top! These ladies faced adversity all season and fought tooth and nail in a super tough softball region. We are so proud of their accomplishments this season and their hard work!
The Cherokee Bluff Football team has showed steady improvement through the season. A huge Homecoming win against a previously undefeated East Forsyth has put the Bears within striking distance of the state playoffs. Our young men have been working extremely hard to ensure that they have “no regrets” this year.
Congratulations to our kids for a wonderful showing at state. It was hot, dusty, and the competition was fierce. They raced hard and finished 17th out of 77 teams and 11th in school based teams. I can’t be more proud of our Cherokee Bluff Mountain Bike community.
The cross country team competes in Region on Tuesday, October 24th. The girls have slowly progressed as the season has gone on to be sitting 4th in region with a chance to compete at state on the line pending Region placement. The boys are on a down year, but are reloading with a bright future.

Cherokee Bluff Cheer is wrapping up our football season and entering into the Basketball season. We enjoyed supporting the bears on the field, and now we’re ready to support them on the court.
Competition cheer has had a very exciting season. We currently rank 3rd in the state for the 4A division. We will compete for a region title on November 4th in Fayetteville at Starr’s Mill High School, hopefully capturing a region 8 title and earn a spot for the state finals the next weekend in Macon.
This past weekend, the Marching Bears showcased their exceptional talent and dedication at the Lake Hartwell Marching Contest at Hart County High School. We are thrilled to announce they achieved the followed honors:
*Superior Ratings in all categories.
*In Class 3A:
Drum Majors - 2nd place
Guard - 2nd place
Percussion - 1st place
Band - 1st place
*In the Silver Division (comprising all bands in Class 1A-3A), they clinched
Drum Majors - 2nd place
