We had such a wonderful week in EIPK! Take a look at some of the fun activities we enjoyed below. I’m still waiting on all verification forms to be completed before I can begin sharing pictures, so please submit those as soon as possible!
This week, we kicked off a fun insect theme! We read Ladybug, Ladybug, What Can You See?—a wonderful story for practicing the /s/ sound. To help, we pretended to crawl a spider down our arms while making the sound. We also put on our detective hats and made predictions about which insect might be hiding in each picture! You can check out a video of the story below.
We played with bugs in the water bins, rice sensory bin, play doh and on our tuff tray!
Students made their own ladybugs, and each one turned out uniquely amazing!
This week in EIPK, we introduced our Land Acknowledgement. Together, we talked about our love for the land, water, and animals, and discussed how we can honor the people who came before us by taking good care of the place where we live and learn.
This week in EIPK, we learned about Terry Fox, a hero who ran to help others. We talked about how brave he was and how he wanted to make the world a better place. Then we got moving like Terry! We jogged on the spot for 10 seconds and dashed around our backyard, helping Terry finish his race!
We go through lots of Play-Doh throughout the year in EIPK, and it’s such a wonderful way for our kiddos to practice their fine motor skills! If you’re able to volunteer to bring a batch (or even a few!) throughout the year, it would be greatly appreciated.
