We kicked off this week with an Ocean theme! Check out some of our favourite centers from the week!
This week, we enjoyed reading There Is a Whole in the Bottom of the Sea. It was a fantastic read-aloud that introduced students to different animals that live in the sea such as an eel, squid, crab, snail, and shark. Beyond expanding their word knowledge, the story was a perfect opportunity to practice our core words: in, out make and not.
Some students got the opportunity to be introduced to our second Kimochi, Huggtopus which is an Octopus! Huggtopus is a very excited and silly Octopus who learns that sometimes friends need a little bit of space and the importance of sharing and taking turn with our friends.
Students had fun creating their own oceans and discovering different ocean animals. We also transformed our kitchen area into an Ice Cream Shop! Students had a blast taking orders, role-playing as waiters and customers, and creating different kinds of icecream while building language, social, and pretend-play skills.
