We had an amazing week in EIPK! Check out some of the fun activities below.
This week, we read one of my favorite Pete the Cat books: Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons! To make the story extra engaging, I used a Velcro Pete. As we read along, we pulled off his buttons one by one, bringing the story to life while practicing our subtraction skills in a fun, hands-on way. Afterwards, the kids had the chance to retell the story on their own using their own Velcro Pete!
Students had the chance to decorate their very own Pete the Cat shirt. They colored their shirts and then picked their favorite buttons to glue on. Squeezing the glue bottles was excellent fine motor practice for our little hands!
We got the paints out for the first time this week and had fun decorating buttons to brighten up our room!
On Tuesday, our students were asked to choose their favorite button color. They then used their magnetic name tags to create a bar graph, discovering which colors their classmates liked the most.
