Here are a few highlights from our week together!
We wrapped up the school year with a joyful blend of our camping theme and a few beloved centres from earlier in the year. The children moved easily between familiar favourites — like the beach and dinosaurs — and the outdoor‑inspired learning they’ve come to love. This mix of comfort, creativity, and hands‑on exploration made for a wonderful final week together, filled with curiosity, laughter, and meaningful play. Here are some highlights from our end‑of‑year adventures.
Our If You Give a Dog a Donut story invited the children into a playful, fast‑moving adventure. They eagerly followed the dog’s silly chain of ideas, predicting what might happen next and reacting with big smiles as each new twist unfolded.
Our Good Morning, Mr. Sun song brought lots of smiles during circle time this week. The children eagerly joined in the motions, moving their bodies with confidence and enthusiasm as we sang together. It was a bright, cheerful way to start our mornings, and some days the clouds did go away, making our song feel even more joyful.
For hands‑on learning this week, the children coloured a cheerful camping scene and arranged their names in the sky using star letters, creating a sweet nighttime display. They also designed ties for their dads, adding their own drawings and colours to make each one personal and full of heart. It was a calm, creative set of activities that let everyone express themselves in meaningful ways.
Our campsite setup stayed in place for the final week of school, and the children occasionally returned to it throughout their day. Midway through the week, we switched back to our original kitchen, giving the children a chance to revisit another favourite centre. It was wonderful to see how their play shifted and evolved as they moved between familiar environments one last time.
