We wrapped up our transportation theme during this short week in EIPK! It was wonderful meeting with families for their second IPP meetings, and I’m looking forward to connecting with the rest of you in the coming days.
Even with the shorter schedule, we fit in lots of fun and learning—take a look at some of our activities below! You can find all of this week’s photos here: Nov 24 - 28
This week, we sang “Car Car” every day during carpet time. This finger poem is always a favorite, and the students had a blast performing it using different voices for each character! See if your child would like to try it out at home with you!
We practiced sorting by colors this week using cars and hoops! The kids loved rolling the cars into the matching hoops, learning to recognize colors while building motor skills and having fun. A playful way to explore, sort, and learn!
We had some ooey, gooey messy play this week! The students made “mud” using cornstarch, water, and cocoa, then had a blast getting their toy cars stuck and dirty in it. This hands-on activity was not only fun but also helped develop their sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and creativity!
This week, students practiced their fine motor skills and ability to follow directions through a fun transportation-themed craft. As an introduction to using scissors in EIPK, they carefully cut out cars and glued them onto a car transporter. This activity not only encouraged creativity, but also supported hand-eye coordination, focus, and early scissor skills.
This week, we explored a new feeling in the yellow zone: excited! Students had fun sharing their excited faces and talking about the things that make them feel this way. Afterwards, we got our bodies moving with a few transportation-themed body breaks. You can check out the videos below!
