Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ve been doing in the classroom this week. Be sure to check out all of this week’s photos here: Nov 17–21.
This week we sang Take a Trip every day during carpet time. It was a fun way to practice our transportation vocabulary while also working on our speech sounds.
Students had the opportunity to create their own license plates, practicing their fine motor skills by tracing or dotting their names, looking closely at the letters in their names, and decorating them with truck stickers.
This week we explored two new feelings in the yellow zone: silly and frustrated. We also practiced two new ways to calm our bodies, including the “Blowing in the Wind” scarf dance and a “Silly to Calm” mindful movement activity.
Our classroom was transformed with all things transportation this week! We had cars and roads to drive on, a giant school bus to play in, a construction dig in the sensory table, and even built boats at the water table.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered and made playdough for our classroom! We use it every day, and it’s great for developing fine motor and play skills. We really appreciate your support! If you’d like to help, there are still spots available for the rest of the year: EIPK Play Doh Sign Up
