Sept 13-17

SEPTEMBER 13-17, 2021

Dear Bellevue Families,

We would like to give our students and entire school community a huge shout out for a fantastic start to the school year! We are so proud of our students!

NEW COVID MEASURES

Black Gold announced new and enhanced COVID measures starting September 13th. Many of the measures were already implemented here at Bellevue such as increased hand washing and sanitation, cohorting classes, etc. New is the masking mandate for grades 4-6. Information about the announcement can be found here. We hope that this is a temporary measure, but we are happy to do whatever it takes to keep our students safe and in school. We spoke to our students about it over virtual assemblies and they are choosing to have good attitudes and make the best of it as we always do here at Bellevue. We hope our families see this as a positive measure to help support the health and wellness of our staff and students.

SCHOOL COUNCIL AND FUNDRAISING SOCIETY

Our kids need the help of your thoughts and opinions!! We would like to invite you to our AGAM meeting on Wednesday, September 15th via zoom. The fundraising meeting will begin at 6:30pm, followed by School Council at 7:00pm. What is School Council? It is a wonderful group of parents that have the opportunity to make an impact on their children's school environment. You can participate in Fundraising, Parent Council, or both. There is no requirement to attend all of the meetings, just show up when you can. Meetings last 30-60min and rarely go past 8:00pm. At the meetings we discuss school activities, curriculum and get regular updates from staff. We plan dances, movie nights, parent nights, and teacher appreciation. We decide how the fundraising money will be spent. We hope to see you there, it’s a great way to get involved!

BEING SICK AT SCHOOL

We are seeing more and more students who are sick at school. Each morning, please ensure you do the daily checklist. If your child has any symptoms, keep them home and do self assessment. We ask that you do not bring your child to school if they are sick, including coughs, sneezing and runny noses. If your child is showing signs or symptoms of being sick at school, we will call you to come pick she/he up. Students are allowed to return to school once they are symptom free and have followed AHS COVID regulations.

Online Absence Reporting - use this form to report online absences.

DRESSING FOR THE WEATHER

Please make sure your child dresses for the weather. The fall is not very consistent with the weather and students can get caught off guard outside which makes for a very unpleasant recess. Most mornings start off cold and then get warmer throughout the day, only hitting the high temperature at 4pm. We do go out for recess almost all of the time and we want our students to have fun and be comfortable.

WATER BOTTLES

Please make sure you pack your child a water bottle. You can fill your water bottle, but the drinking fountains are not on. Many students are coming to school without a water bottle.

LUNCHES AND DROP OFFS

Just a reminder that we are not accepting hot lunches dropped off at this time. This is simply to keep our students safe. The office has food or will call home depending on the situation.

YEARBOOK

They were handed out or on Monday. If you want purchase one, we have a few extra copies. Please contact the office.

VERIFICATION FORMS

The Student Verification forms are available on your Parent PowerSchool account to fill out. Please complete them by the end of the month. These are important for our school to have the most up to date and accurate information for your child on file. This also includes the walking field trip forms so your child can participate in events such as the Terry Fox Walk on Sept. 24th. We would not like to have to keep a child behind due to a form not being filled out.
