MASKS

This is a friendly reminder to please encourage your child to change his/her mask often and to bring them home for proper washing. We want to keep everyone safe and healthy at school and mask hygiene is a very important piece to that.

HALLOWEEN

Last reminder for next Friday. Students can dress up in either a costume or orange and black. Costumes can be worn the entire day and they need to be able to sit at their desks, in their costumes. Many classes do not use lockers, so there will not be extra room to store costumes. All extra accessories should be left at home. They need to be able to wear their masks, so costumes must be able to accommodate this. Simple costumes would be easier and still fun.

Please do not bring in treats or items for your child’s class. We will not be handing them out.

ADDRESSING LEARNING NEEDS

Our school invested a lot of time and resources to ensure we screened our students upon their return to school this September. Screeners are tools to inform a teacher’s instruction and how to tailor programming for children.

Each teacher has been scheduled one resource block a week to allow time to work with particular students or small groups of students who need some extra time, remediation or practice in a certain subject area. One resource block is 30 minutes.

PARENT CONFERENCES

We will be hosting “Virtual” Conferences from November 2-6th, 2020. You will be emailed a link to sign up for a time.

BUS LANE AND STAFF PARKING

Just a reminder that we do not want parents dropping the kids off in the alley beside the bus loop. This is not safe. Cars are pulling into the bus lane and alley, which is making it safe at our crosswalk. Also, students are crossing the bus lane, to get their doors. This is not a safe practice.

Also, the staff parking lot is not for parents. Only for staff and for parents who require accessible parking. Please park in the community center or on the street.
