PARKING

Thank you to all of the parents for using the new “Kiss and Go” for student drop off and staying out of the bus lane. We ask that you do not park in our staff parking lot, unless you are using our accessible spots. Our parking lot is for staff only and we have a limited amount of parking stalls for our employees. Please remember that some of our staff leave and come back throughout the day. There have been quite a few times lately that our staff have to park down the street as there are no spaces available when they return.

ILLNESS AND SCHOOL

Thank you to all of the parents who are following the AHS guidelines with illness. We all want to be as healthy and safe as possible. We appreciate families keeping students home for the appropriate amount of time, getting tested if applicable and keeping us all a little safer and healthier. We know that this is an adjustment, but necessary for the times we are in. Do not forget to contact your child’s teacher for missed work, if your child is home, awaiting to come back.

It is best to report absences using our online link.

ORANGE SHIRT DAY

Students are encouraged to wear orange shirts on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020. Orange Shirt Day is a day of remembrance and an act of reconciliation. It is used to commemorate the history and legacy of residential schools.

VERIFICATION FORMS

Please get your forms in as soon as possible. They can be found in your PowerSchool account. It is important that we get all of your current information. Included are our computer use and walking permission forms. Thank you to all of the families who have already completed them!

Please note: Distant Learning families need to complete this form as well. New families to Black Gold School Division and new Kindergarten families are excluded.

ACTIVE FOR LIFE PROGRAM

We are excited to be running this program for our grade 5-6 students. It is starting on October 5th. This program is starting once a week, where students go and participate in different physical activities, for an entire afternoon. If you want more information, please contact Mr. Larson.
