Jessica Ennis
Jessica Ennis is a great role model for people around the world, many people look up to her and lots of girls hope to be as good as her sporting ability. Her most successful Olympics were in London 2012 where she won a gold medal in the heptathlon. She works hard all week at training while going through pain. Jessica Ennis is an amazing athlete, she can run fast, jump far and has strong muscles.
Young life
Jessica Ennis was born on the 23rd January 1986. At the age of 10 she was introduced to her first running track and won a pair of trainers at an Aviva event. In 2000 at the age of 14 she won an award at the National School Championship for high jump. In 2000 she graduated from the University of Sheffield. When she was 17 she joined the British Junior Squad.
Olympics
Jessica Ennis wasn’t able to compete in the Beijing Olympics when she was 22 because of a leg injury. She became a double world champion in 2009. The next year she became the first British woman to win the world title in and outdoors. At the London Olympics in 2012 she took part in the Heptathlon, the events in the heptathlon are; 200m and 800m, 100m hurdles, shot put, javelin throw, high jump and long jump. She was put under pressure because she was the face of the games in 2012.
