Monday 19th - Friday 23rd November 2012The children had a fantastic week learning about friendships across a range of activities and really enjoyed working with others in different year groups. The pictures below are just a very small sample of the fun they had, so ask them what they did to find out more about our Friendship Week.
Year 1Year 1 worked together to develop their friendships with children in both classes. They completed games and puzzles, made a biscuit for a friend and worked together to construct homes for various animals. They enjoyed spending time together and it was lovely to see new friendships forming.
Year 2
The children in Class 2C took some time to work with the children from Year 4. It was great to see them learning together and watching as bonds were forming and friendships being made as they created friendship paper dolls.
Year 4
Class 4B thought that they would reinforce their friendships by taking part in team building skills. Working together and using their skills they had great fun completing the different tasks. They learned that having a greater understanding of each others position helped everyone to be successful.
Reception 1 and Year 2
The children of Reception 1 and Year 2 often work together but during Friendship Week they thought they would do something special for our friends at Kudawella School in Sri Lanka. The children worked together learning how to make hand puppets that they could send over for story telling time.
Year 4Studying the friendships of others helped our Year 4 as they focused their learning on The Chronicles of Narnia. The children worked in teams to find out about the characters, how they interacted and were portrayed. The children learned how to put a storyboard of their thoughts together.
Year 6Solving mathematical problems together was the focus for Class 6B. The children had a variety of challenges to work through and found it a great help to bounce ideas off each other whilst working together to find the solutions.
Year 5The children in Year 5 took the opportunity to chat to their friends and children in other year groups. They wanted to find out the different things that interested others, what games they played and took the chance to make new friends.
Class 6A set up photos to show what makes a good friend. Can you work out what the children were thinking?
Year 6
The children in the Nursery class spent the week playing with different friends and helping each other with the daily tasks.
