As exams draw ever closer and all the classes begin to turn in their final projects and write their final tests, the stress level increases. Looming in the near future is an exam week stretching from the 27th to the 30th. Exams are not the most pleasant time, but here’s what you need to know to have the most successful time. First, begin studying early, early bird gets the word and the early studier gets more time to work; second, prepare your supplies, the JL Verdict recommends bringing two mechanical pencils, extra lead, a sharpener, highlighters, whiteout, calculator, ruler, full water bottle, and snacks (Best if they’re quiet ones). Before the exam, make sure to get lots of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and ensure that you get to school early for your exams. When you arrive at school, make sure you use the washroom before your exams begin as you will not be able to leave for the first hour of exams. After using the washroom, head to your classroom and wait outside until you are let in. When you are let in, place your bag at the front of the classroom, turn your phone OFF and put it in your bag. There is nothing more embarrassing than your phone going off mid exam. During the exam, make sure to stay calm, it is in your best interests to stay as relaxed as possible to make sure you remember all your studying. Evidence shows that when people are panicking they have a harder time remembering. If you find yourself in a state of confusion and stress, take a drink of water, eat a snack, take a deep breath, or count to ten. While answering the questions, prioritize the higher value and harder questions at first so that you will have the time and brain energy to complete them!
