The past few months at J.L. Ilsley High School have been FULL of events and there are lots more to come. Check out the information below on past events and make sure you get the scoop on upcoming events too!
Upcoming Events:
-Halloween Spirit Week (in order): Dress like your Fave Horror Character, Country vs. Country Club Day, Mean Girls Day (Wear Pink!), and Comfy Clothes Day!
-Halloween Dance: This year's Halloween Dance will be happening Wednesday, October 25th 7pm-10pm. Tickets are $7 in advance and 10$ at the door. Tickets are being sold at lunch in the cafeteria. Don't forget your student ID and of course...your costume!
-Grade Nine Take Your Kid to Work Day: November 1st is Take Your Kid to Work Day for grade nines! It is an opportunity to shadow your parent, guardian, relative, or family friend for a day at their job. See your ELA/Healthy Living teacher for more info. Forms are due back by October 30th.

Spirit Days
-J.L. Student Council has been hard at work creating a promoting Spirit Days at school. Here are some examples of Spirit Days that we have had during September and October: Barbie and Ken Day, Twin Day, PJ Day, Dress a Teacher Day, and J.L. School Spirit Day! Thanks to all that participated :)
Sports and Clubs
-Sports and clubs are in full swing! We had an extracurricular fair in September with booths and a prize to showcase all of the awesome extracurricular activities we have at J.L. Check out the "Sports" page for more info on our sports teams. Students, keep your eyes out for posters and ears listening for announcements to be informed about ongoing club and sports news.
Mean Girls: The Musical
-Our school musical this year is Mean Girls! Cast and crew have been chosen and rehearsals are underway. It will be a while away but we can't wait to see the final production. Congrats to all cast, crew, and staff involved!
Grad Breakfast
-On September 20th, we had a special breakfast for the prospective graduating class of 2024. Free breakfast was provided and info about prom, post-secondary education, and graduation was talked about with students.
